Officials' Lists

Lasix Reports

Thoroughbred Lasix List:
Horses using Lasix must be declared and certified with the ORC’s Thoroughbred Lasix Program. The ORC Veterinarian or Official Veterinarian will sign and stamp the E.I.P.H. (Exercise Induced Pulmonary Haemorrhage) certification application permitting the horse to race on Lasix. All Lasix-certified, eligible horses will appear on this list.

Thoroughbred Qualified Lasix Program:
The ORC’s Thoroughbred Lasix Program outlines the procedures through which a horse may enter the Lasix program for the first time. Horses are placed on this list in accordance with the ORC Rules of Thoroughbred Racing 36.01.03. The horses on this list are not eligible to race for 14 days.

Thoroughbred Bleeders List:
A horse that bleeds in a race in Ontario or that is observed by the Commission Veterinarian or Official Veterinarian to be bleeding in the detention barn following a race is placed on this list. While on the bleeder’s list, horses are subject to the provisions and/or restrictions outlined by the ORC Rules of Thoroughbred Racing 36.05.05.

Other Reports

Thoroughbred Commission Vets List:
Any horse scratched by the Commission Veterinarian or official veterinarians is placed on this 7 day list. Horses can be placed on this list for reasons of illness, overall soundness or fitness to race. While on the list, the horse is not eligible to be entered.

Thoroughbred Cryoanaesthesia and Nerve List:
Horses that have been nerved must be declared as per the ORC Rules of Thoroughbred Racing 15.02.4. Horses that have been nerve-blocked, desensitizing the volar or plantar nerves through any combination of alcohol, drug, or procedure shall be placed on this list.

Thoroughbred Procaine List:
Horses using Procaine must be declared as per the ORC Rules of Thoroughbred Racing 6.42. Horses will remain on this list for no less then 21 days following the last reported use of this medication.

Stewards List:
The stewards of thoroughbred racing may place the name of any horse on the Steward's List for any reason they may deem to be proper. While on this list, the horse may not race or be entered into a race, as per ORC Rules of Thoroughbred Racing 16.11.
